Is there a real gaelic song?
A friend is looking for a gaelic song to sing and accompany with guitar. He likes to collect international songs and even though he doesn't speak gaelic, he'd like to add such a song to his collection. He'll do the arrangement himself.
However, I can't find a real gaelic ballad/song anywhere, where by 'real' I mean one that was originally written in gaelic - not a translation from english.
Can anyone suggest such a song?
Look at Cill Caish right here on the ballad archive that is an original Gaelic song for one.
That should be Cill Chais. There are at least three other gaelic songs on the archive, Eamann an Chnoic, Oro se do Bheata 'Bhaile and Portlairge, (I have not used accented letters here but they are used in the texts). If the tune is not here try Googling them.
