Laura Ospina Barón
Percussionist and singer

She has been continuously performing a repertoire of traditional Celtic songs in English and Gaelic since 2010. At the age of six, she began her musical studies at the New Culture Foundation and continued to study piano and choral studies at the Youth Symphony Orchestra Foundation of Colombia.


Laura has worked in cultural management for five years. She has also developed other world music projects such as the Edelweiss duet (German music) and for a time participated in a Balkan folk music study group. She is currently recording her solo album of rock and traditional Nordic music with producer Aldo D Cristo.

Flor Alba Lasso Rubio
Violinist

Bachelor of Music from the National Pedagogical University. She holds a Master’s degree in Musical Research from the International University of Valencia. She has been a member of various academic and world music groups, combining instrumental performance with research and exploration of the violin’s diverse performance resources in various settings. Her vocal exploration began with her choral experience and is currently being developed with the guidance of Silvia Ortega.


In 2023, Flor launched her book Melodies from Colombia and Latin America for fiddlers at Lund University (Sweden) and Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (Colombia) as a recap of her experiences teaching and performing traditional music from Colombia.

Juan Carlos Velasco
Guitarist

Classical guitar teacher and performer at the Universidad de los Andes. He has over 20 years of experience playing this instrument on national stages.


He has worked as an independent teacher and has developed personal musical projects, including composing several solo albums and seven recordings during his tenure in the experimental Colombian folk duo ZAFIRA with Daniel Cobos.

Jairo Eduardo Calderón
Percussionist (invited artist)

World music percussion master, with extensive experience performing Celtic, klezmer, and medieval music. He is a luthier, including the bowed lyre, kantele, gopichand, koto-tanpura-monochord, pentatonic flutes and ocarinas, Lakota drum, violin, erhu, harmonicas, tubular bells, dulcimer, traveling guitar, psaltery, n’goni, medieval Celtic harp, bowed psaltery, and Greek lyre.
