Frank O’Brien
Frank O’Brien, the local postman, wrote and sang the beautifully evocative ‘Around the Chapel Gate in Cooraclare’, in which he proclaims proudly his love for and pride in his native place. Frank emigrated to Chicago to join his brother Pana and sadly died far away from Cooraclare.
Cooraclare is a village near Kilrush, in County Clare, Ireland, and a Catholic parish by the same name.
