web site for irish song historys??

Hi, I'm hoping to find a web-site that may give history,
and/or trivial information about different irish songs.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to see that, too. I especially would like to know the history of "Castle of Dromore". I understand that there was a new edition of the Childe Ballads which would be useful for some songs. Maybe we should start a web site, or try to include such information on this one?

Lesley Nelson (the Contemplator) has a very good site here, where you'll find history on songs from England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and America.
And Nancy, that's a great idea! Let's share our knowledge here!
