Queen of County Clare
Quote from rockybaby99 on August 30, 2011, 10:38 amQueen of County Clare. Bell/Gourlay composers. Recorded by the late, great Patrick O'Hagan. Can't find lyrics anywhere and there are several words that for the life of me I can't understand. havn't found any recording of it by any other artist.
First first seems to be
In the hush (blush?) of early morn when the heavens (heather)are born,
and the sun is slanting off the hills of Clare
Down the lovely Shannon side a bewitching girl I spied,
With the crown of Derry Flowers in her hair.
I love it, and it's so frustrating not to be able to sing it correctly
