Incorrect attribution?

Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go here is credited as (Trad). However, at makem.com, the words are listed as having been written by Francis McPeake.

I have found several more places on the web that make this attribution.

It appears to me that the attribution is in error and needs to be fixed.

Yes, I agree.
But Mr McPeake claimed to have written it. There are various fragments namely from Scotland. Visit the 'Mudcat Cafe' Forum for more details.
