I'm coming home and home will I stay

I'm looking for a song for my father. He sang it when he was in high school (early 50's) and remembers one line ...

"I'm coming home and home will I stay and never no never again will I go wondering far away."

I've looked everywhere I can think of, including academic music databases, but have had no success.

Everyone I have talked with thinks it's an Irish Folk song, so I'm hoping someone here can help!
