A maid again I'll never be till cherries ripe on an apple tree

I am looking for the music and words to an irish folk song that I used to listen to back in the 60's when I was living in Ballykelly. All I can remember is the following words along the lines of: " A maid again I'll never be till cherries ripe on an apple tree" or something like that. It had a very strong melody and I would love to hear it again.

Cracked it! it is the "Butcher Boy" found it on this site

The words remind me of a song, "Tarrytown", performed by The Weavers.

(I'll have to listen to the tune when I'm not at work!)
